BBB's Name Change

As of August 22, 2026, Benjamin's Beaded Bling is being changed to Benjamin's Beaded Bling & Other Things.

It seems to be a lengthy name but at the same time, I think it's perfect because it will truly represent what this business is. I started beading during the summer of 2008, just before I turned 11. It started with a Yoshi medallion, from the Super Mario world. Then it was earrings. Graduation Caps. And so much more. But they were all done with beadwork. I've been beading for almost 20 years now, and while I still enjoy it, it's not the only way I want to create anymore.

I've been looking more into quilting and sewing; I made a new Pipe bag for my mother and I loved that process. I've sewn lanyards and oven mitts. I have been quilting blankets since I was young as well, thanks to my mother and grandmother's teachings. People ask if I could make them blankets for the ceremonies we have. I've also been taught how to make ribbon skirts and shirts and would like to start offering those as well.

I will also be learning how to make moccasins the Shingobe-Benjamin way from my mother. I will know how to make moccasins in every size from newborn to adult.

But the point of the name change is to include all of this, not just for you as the buyer to know what I am selling, but for myself as well. I've had this tendency to think that I could only sell beadwork here because it is "Benjamin's Beaded Bling". By adding the "& Other Things" I can visually remind myself that I can create what I want to, when I want to and not be limiting my free time working exclusively on beadwork.z
